František studied how the interplay of symmetry and topology can result in band nodes in electronic band structure, and numerically investigated the stability of crystalline-symmetry-protected band nodes against distortions of the crystalline lattice. František defended his bachelor’s thesis, titled Stability of band-structure nodes against crystalline-lattice distortions, in June 2018. František continued his undergradute studies at EPFL in Lausanne, where he did a Master’s project in the group of Oleg Yazyev.
